There is more than one artist with this name: 1. Awning is the lo-fi indie rock project of Christian Dimick from Wellington, New Zealand. 2. Birthed from a longstanding friendship that began while studying music at NYU, Awning is a wildly refreshing contrast to all that is stale in electronic music. It comes as no surprise that Jon Sheldrick and Luke Smith, the duo behind the outfit, are both classically trained musicians. Folk songs written years ago by the pair in a dingy Brooklyn apartment are still present in Awning's repertoire today, if only shells of their former selves.
