Shamanic “You tell me that it’s evolution…” Music has always been influenced by the trends of its time, reflecting politics, economics and lifestyles. But the moment you play the Shamanic eponymous debut EP, you’re taken back to another age. Shamanic consists of guitarist and vocalist David Sharp, drummer Lachlan Robinson and bassist , Siebe Carl Pogson - all of them a product of Generation Y. Ask the guys about their influences and it’s no surprise they mention Hendrix, Cream and Led Zeppelin . But there’s some inspiration drawn from left field too – they love the founding father of Funk, James Brown and Hip Hop artists Tribe Called Quest… (while Siebe’s layered with jazz and classical roots. Many modern bands have a ‘throwback’ sound (Arctic Monkeys, Black Keys, Jet, Tame Impala)… but with Shamanic it’s a little different.
