Being involved in many facets of music has given Max Smidt a good grounding to produce his debut CD, Music is the Mistress. As a multi talented musician and songwriter, it has given Max the foundation for a collection of songs that not only challenges the listener musically, but lyrically as well. One of the advantages that Max has over newer musicians is that he has had a myriad of life and music based experiences. These experiences shine through in his intelligent song writing – these are real life experiences that the listener can relate to. Max is emotive in his delivery and has the ability to entertain his audience and hold their attention. But it’s not all seriousness in Max’s music. You’ll find some rockier, light hearted tunes that are simply satisfying to crank up the volume, kick back and enjoy a cool drink on a warm day.
