Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, and influenced by the Gaia theory and Iggy Pop’s gyrating nakedness, RQTBL are a post punk band that pair noodling riffs with noise, big noise. Formed over beers in low lit bars, and raised on a healthy diet of hedonism, RQTBL (pronounced Racquetball) eschew conventional sounds and structures, shifting from post punk to post rock to Louis Armstrong tributes in a single outing. The band explores relatable themes, like love and loss, staying up too late, drinking from magic taps, and the wasted lives of daring cosmonauts. It's punk but sometimes not as you know it.
