** FREE ENTRY // FRONT BAR // 11PM-2AM ** Music is the Massage is a collective of women who love and play records. We embrace women-identifying wax-lovers of all ages and abilities to our ranks, finding creativity and connection through everything from jazz, disco and hip hop to the funk-soul gems inbetween – all heard through the warm crackle of the needle. Our name riffs on the cult '60s book 'The Medium is the Massage' (Marshall McLuhan), which explores how an artform's delivery can profoundly affect the human senses. Join us as we tap into that sensory web while always acknowledging we are guests on unceded Indigenous land, understanding that music is a sacred form of connection and culture for Aboriginal people.
