the word from the venue
Project Echo is an independent live music platform based in Melbourne, dedicated to showcasing emerging artists through carefully curated performances. Bringing together musicians across jazz, rock, metal, R&B, fusion and beyond, each edition celebrates originality, musicianship and the shared experience of live music. A place where artists are heard, audiences connect, and every performance leaves an echo. Door: 7:00pm First Act: 7:30pm Line Up: Lill Chii Born in Melbourne, Lill Chii is a Chinese Folk Metal force that fuses the soul of ancient Eastern traditions with the crushing weight of modern metal. Driven by thunderous riffs, soaring melodies, and the spirit of Chinese folk music, Lill Chii transforms personal battles into sonic warfare. Scars left by family, identity, culture, and the struggle of becoming oneself are forged into songs that are both brutal and deeply human. We are not united by sameness, but by difference. Every individual carries a story. Every wound leaves a mark. Every voice deserves to be heard. And when the world refuses to listen- we turn the volume up. This is Lill Chii. Where heritage meets rebellion. Where silence becomes a roar. Cantilever Once, they were nothing more than ordinary Monash Civil Engineering graduates…Until fate led them to a talking guitar. From that moment on, everything changed. Chosen as the legendary Music Guardians, they now bear the ultimate mission of protecting the universe’s independent rock scene. To save the Earth and crush the ambitions of the dark forces, they formed the mighty band CANTILEVER. From Monash’s Building 60, they burst forth as radiant beams of light, fighting alongside rock warriors everywhere in an epic battle that never ends! 010 The people 010 found. The band 010 put together. The name 010 chose. The songs 010 picked. The bio 010 wrote. 010 doesn’t have a legendary origin story. We just kept rehearsing, kept eating together, and one day realized, “Hey… it’s always the same people.” Someone brings in a tune. Someone changes a chord. 010 adds another solo. Most of us spend our time studying music, and occasionally studying snacks. We love R&B and Soul, but we’re just as happy letting Jazz, Latin, and Funk accidentally bump into each other in the same song. We believe music can solve a lot of problems. If it can’t… maybe
