Head beneath the Paramount Food Court, through the golden doors, for the festival’s Friday night after parties. A neon diorama to forget about your dramas. Italo disco, global club sounds, cracked electronica, live guests and karaoke rooms. Bass Lounge is RISING’s newest late-night haunt. Head there after the show for lovingly curated kick-ons. Open until the wee hours. On night one there’ll be music from the centrifugal party-starter and dollar-bin digger, Karim aka Rotational—a Rotterdam-based DJ who mixes everything from Algerian synth-pop to crazy wave deep cuts. Also, a live set from Naomie Klaus, a Brussels-based producer who spins tragico-glamorous narratives over trip-hop rhythms. Her sound oscillates between pitched-down vocal delays, lazy punk and something edging towards pop. Rounding out the night are sets from the electrifying Kidskin, tripped out live dub via Front Page Leslie, reggaeton-infused low end grooves from Zalina (Chuelo Club), and interstitial sounds provided b
