Deep South Music bring a modern southern rock experience built on powerful vocals, gritty guitar work, swampy grooves, and cinematic storytelling. Blending classic southern rock energy with blues, hard rock, and modern edge, the band delivers a live show designed to feel raw, immersive, and larger than life. Joining the lineup are Banjzig and AS OF YET BAND, each bringing their own dynamic performance style to the night. BANJZIG is the ‘top traditional Celtic-folk-glam-rock band in the entire central Footscray area’. They blend the sounds of the Pogues, the Dubliners, and Planxty with those of the Misfits, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, and Motorhead. The five-piece is made up of four musicians from Dublin (Ireland), Mauritius (East Africa), Katamatite (Victoria), and ‘Parts Unknown’ (Unknown), who combine traditional Irish and Scottish instrumentation of banjos, octave mandolins, ‘banjpipes’ (synthetic Uilleann /Highland Bag Pipes), bass guitar and percussion (including larger-phone and Bodhrán). BANJZIG plays an eclectic mix of traditional and modern songs, ranging from sean-nós children’s songs circa 14th-century to songs about the Anglo-Norman invasion of Ireland in the 12th century, and from modern classics by Grand Master Flash and the Furious Five, Ozzy Ozborne, Slayer, and Thin Lizzy.
