TRIBQU TURNS 6! Friday June 6 — We’re back for a rare one-off winter session at our beloved basement Sub Club to toast six years of dance floor magic and sonic exploration. For this special milestone, we’re proud to present two trailblazers of the dub techno world: Tikiman & Richard Akingbehin, performing together in Naarm/Melbourne for the first time. Paul St Hilaire AKA Tikiman is the original voice of dub techno, pioneering the genre together with Mark Ernestus and Moritz von Oswald as Rhythm & Sound. Over the years since, he has voiced classic records from the likes of Larry Heard, Modeselektor, The Bug or Deadbeat, while also self-producing albums of his own unique take on dub, reggae and electronic music. In 2023, he signed to British-Nigerian DJ Richard Akingbehin’s label Kynant Records for his first solo album in 20 years, Tikiman Vol. 1.
