“raw folk-rock storytelling with 90s indie grit and emotive live energy, think big thief meets neil young.”
event details
Genevieve Lily & The Rose Street Band are an alternative folk-rock band from Sydney’s Inner West, led by singer-songwriter Genevieve Lily. Their music blends personal storytelling with the raw energy of alternative rock, drawing on the honesty of folk and the grit of 90s indie. What began as Genevieve’s solo songwriting project has grown into a full band, featuring bass, keys, harmonica, lead guitar, drums, Genevieve’s rhythm guitar, and distinctive vocals. Together, they create rich, dynamic arrangements that balance intimacy with powerful live energy. Known for candid lyrics and emotive performances, the band crafts songs that explore love, change, resilience, and the shared human experience. Inspired by artists such as Angus & Julia Stone, Big Thief, and Neil Young & the Crazy Horse, Genevieve Lily & The Rose Street Band bring together a sound that is nostalgic and their own.
