event details

After 16 years, acclaimed American singer-songwriter Eric Hutchinson is thrilled to return to Australia in 2026 for his first-ever headline tour. Hutchinson’s relationship with Australia is the stuff of industry legend. In 2008, his infectious hit single "Rock & Roll" became a national phenomenon, propelled by its inclusion in the iconic Seven Network drama Packed to the Rafters. The track dominated the airwaves, peaking at #1 on the Australian Airplay Charts and achieving platinum status, while his debut album, Sounds Like This, entered the ARIA Top 40. Hutchinson visited Australia twice - for massive national tours supporting Jason Mraz in 2008 and Kelly Clarkson in 2009. And then… he was gone. “I honestly have no idea why I never came back to Australia, other than the fact that it’s like, super far away from New York City where I live,” Eric says with his signature dry wit. “I’ve had so many folks reach out over the years and ask me to come play, but the timing never worked out until now. I can’t wait to reconnect with all the listeners after so many years. It’s gonna be special.” Since his last visit to Australia, Eric has been anything but dormant. He’s released seven albums and his music has racked up over 105 million streams and counting. Back in America, Eric has built a loyal cult following who show up for his clever, heartfelt lyrics and instantly hummable, soulful melodies. He is best known for his songs “Rock & Roll,” “Ok, It’s Alright With Me,” “Watching You Watch Him,” “A Little More,” and “Tell The World.” For these Aussie shows, fans can expect a joyous, soulful, nostalgic, and intimate solo acoustic evening. Eric will tell stories, make jokes, and play a mix of all his classic hits, plus some new songs from his forthcoming album Repeating Myself. Adding to the "full circle" nature of the tour, Hutchinson will be joined by special guest and recent Australian Idol winner, Marshall Hamburger. In a testament to Hutchinson’s lasting legacy, Marshall grew up listening to Eric’s records - his very first public performance was a cover of “Ok, It’s Alright With Me.” After sixteen years, the wait is over. Don’t miss the return of Eric Hutchinson. THIS SHO
