Located on Wurundjeri Country, Fitzroy's traditional name, Ngár-go, means "High Ground", an area long synonymous with creative independence, resistance, and pushing boundaries.For decades, Fitzroy has stood as one of Australia's most important homes for live music and counterculture - a place built on independent venues, underground scenes, DIY spaces, late nights and generations of artists shaping culture outside of the mainstream.HIGH GROUND offers both a new chapter and a celebration of that legacy.
