TANYA GEORGE • CONTRAST ALBUM LAUNCH

Ten years ago, Tanya George started writing the songs that would become her debut album Contrast. The album took relationships ending, savings running out, producers not getting it, a pandemic, and a long quiet stretch finishing it alone in 2023, to finally arrive after releasing a bunch of other EP's & singles along the way. Now it's here. Ten tracks of Soul, RnB, Neo Soul, Pop rooted in the lineage of Sade, Erykah Badu, Jamiroquai and Amy Winehouse, beginning with the voice of her 90-year-old Dutch Oma (Grandma) who has played an important role in Tanya's life. The album drops on Wednesday 29th July, (on Oma's birthday). Ten days later, on Saturday 8 August, Tanya brings Contrast to life at Wax Music Lounge with her full 6-7 piece band: guitar, keys, bass, drums, saxophone and most importantly vocals. This is her only Melbourne show before flying to the Ubud Folk Festival in Bali, then on to represent Australia at the Chengdu Sister Youth Music Festival in China. Limited vinyl pressi
