the word from the venue
MEGALOMANIA rocks The Workers Club for the first time! Bringing seminal Black Sabbath classics to Gertrude Street, Fitzroy. Our Prince of Darkness, Stuart ‘Ozzy’ Mander is as close as you will get to Ozzy Osbourne with his tenor vocals, look and costumes. Delivering true Birmingham vibes to the stage with all the songs you love such as War pigs, Iron Man, Symptom of the universe, Into the void and Paranoid. Joined by our powerful band Sam Robbins on guitar, Aaron ‘Traffy’ Trafford on bass and Fabry Italian drummer. RAWTISM Rawtism's live shows bring a barrage of punching riffs, blistering solos, slamming drum beats, flurrying fills and thumping bass lines topped off with rapid fire vocals and epic, gravel-throated screams. Their songs contain lyrics that are relatable to die-hard metal fans with subject matter ranging from from getting screwed over by your boss, to going to a metal gig hungover from the night before! In June 2021 Rawtism released an independently produced 6 track EP entitled: “Raw And Off It's Head” featuring songs including “Stay Metal”, “Go Rawtistic” and “B.Y.H.A.S.T.F.U” (Bang Your Head And Shut The Fuck Up). April 2022 saw the release of a ripping single ”I Think I'm Cursed” with guest guitarist Denis Sudzuka on 2nd lead guitar. Rawtism has thrashed up many stages in Melbourne and Sydney with great local bands like Elm Street, Mason, Kuntsquad, Barbarion, Sithlord, Forklift Assassins, Livewire, Flitcraft, Victoria K, Nothing, Emperor Moth, Temtris, Hazmat, Reaver, Pyrefly, and the list goes on. Uppercut is Naarm’s red hot head-banging band. They define their sound as “Newah Metal”, a mix of rock n’ roll, punk, and 90’s metal sounds. With vocals by frontman Dylan Beast, laid over a sweet and smooth guitar, a beauty that most rock n’roll guitarists would envy. Sam’s stellar performance on bass shows how beautiful simplicity can be, if played by the hand of a talented musician. Corrie’s drumming throughout the song gives the listener the feeling of being both as light as a feather, while being as heavy as a brick. Former band members of City Sharps and Goldfish have joined forces with Dylan Beast, and are set to shake Melbourne’s music scene to the ground with their energy. Are you ready for some high-octane vocals backed with a high voltage vintage sound? “HATRIARCH is a Melbourne-based metal band consisting of Hate Preacher (vox), Hate Riffer (guitar), Deep Hate (bass) and Hateronome (drums). Their raw heavy and unapologetically eclectic sound instigates hate and hope.”
