Old School Funk and Groove Night

The Old School Funk and Groove Night is back after their packed house boogie last month. Playing classic and rare instrumental grooves from the early years of American funk, Afro-Caribbean and Afro-beat music by artists like Jimmy Smith, James Brown, Fela Kuti, Maceo Parker and Earnest Ranglin to name a few. The list of players and DJ’s who’ve taken the stage over the years with the band is looong. The night ran every Tuesday for a decade at the famous ‘505’ and featured legends of the Sydney scene and visiting international players. This night celebrates all those who gave to the nourishing force of groove on stage (and on the dance floor) in Sydney as part of The Old School Funk & Groove Night. Come get funky with us!!
