Born in Japan and raised in Australia, OjiAji aka Ryotaro is a multifaceted artist whose music serves as a bridge between his dual identities and addresses the challenges of mental health within the context of his unique background. From his formative years spent in Cairns, Australia, attending his father's live music venue, to his emergence as a prominent figure in the Australian music scene, OjiAji's journey is marked by resilience, creativity, and a relentless pursuit of artistic expression. OjiAji moved to Melbourne in 2018 and released a debut album ‘Irene’ with collective Izy to great acclaim in 2021. ‘Irene’ has sold over 500 copies on vinyl and was nominated for the 2022 Australian Music Prize.
