Kick those Monday blues to the curb at Social Sanctuary – your weekly night of free live music at NSC. We've lined up a stellar roster of your fave local artists and some exciting new talents breezing through town!
This week Ella Ion, Liam Snowy Halliwell + Darcy Forever are stopping by for a show.
Emerging from Kaurna Land, Ella Ion crafts music that cuts deep to the core. Drawing on influences of indie-rock, and country-folk, her eloquent lyricism and masterful musical control delivers a cacophony of raw emotion, anchored by grit and heart. The past year has been a transformative one for Ella, venturing out of her local scene to play shows across the UK, Europe and the U.S. and taking home two South Australian Music Awards fuelled by the tracks that make up her most recent release in June of 2026, Liminal Archive EP.
Liam "Snowy" Halliwell of Snowy Band and some others, returns to the big stage, older and wiser, with secret new music. He hopes to reclaim the golf trophy (currently behind the front bar) that the Social Club staff stole from him after his 2025 Social Sanctuary performance.
"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a band in possession of a good tune, must be in want of a life beyond the garden shed..." Darcy Forever is the debut musical project of Claire Elissa Tredinnick, bringing you all the 90s-influenced-sad-girl-folk-rock-angst you didn't know you still needed. Originally formed in a leaking share-house shed in Sydney's Inner West during the depths of lockdown with founding members Georgia Mulligan, Elizabeth Fader (Phantastic Ferniture) and Spencer Morrow, you may have noticed Darcy Forever at live shows on stages across Naarm over the last couple of years with local legends Dom Buckham (d.b.longing), Henry Williams (World's Best Neighbours), Oli Whelehan (ECONOMIST) and Grace Turner. After a long winter, their debut EP 'Twice Divorced' is slated for release in 2026.
Social Sanctuary is proud to be sponsored by Mountain Goat.
Our show is being held on the lands of the Wurundjeri People and we wish to acknowledge them as the Traditional Owners of this land we are gathered on. We also pay our respects to their Elders, past and present, and Aboriginal Elders of other communities that may join us for our show.
