The Stovies are a folk trio with members hailing from Tasmania, Victoria, and NSW, bringing together Scottish, Irish, and Australian musical traditions in a warm, high-energy live experience. Known for their rich three-part harmonies, heartfelt storytelling, and playful humour, The Stovies move effortlessly between stirring folk ballads and foot-stomping singalongs. Drawing inspiration from Celtic and folk greats including The Corries, The Dubliners, The Fureys, Dougie MacLean, Runrig, The Pogues, The Wolfe Tones, The Waterboys, Christy Moore, Eric Bogle, Skerryvore, Skipinnish, and Tide Lines, The Stovies sit proudly in the tradition of storytelling folk music that spans generations and continents. Their live sets feature well-loved songs such as Caledonia, Loch Lomond, Wild Mountain Thyme, Tell Me Ma, The Irish Rover, and Dirty Old Town, delivered with warmth, character, and unmistakable charm. Their debut album Distant Shores captures the spirit of their live shows – rich in heritage, energy, and connection.
