Deep Listening: Khyaal Ensemble (Live) & James Tom (DJ)

A special deep listening event for lovers deep meditative music. Khyaal Vocal Ensemble (Naarm/Melbourne) is an improvising acapella project exploring intuitive expression of the naked voice. Featuring vocalists Aarti Jadu, Mel Taylor and Siobhan Housden, four voices converge and respond to space through mindful spontaneity and deep listening James Tom is one of the founding members of local jazz group Krakatau, who channel their interests in late '60s / early '70s psychedelic jazz, progressive rock and keyboard dominated soundtrack music. Tom also heads Elations Recordings and Fresh Hold - two siblings labels that are responsible for unearthing holy grail recordings like 'Singing Dust' as well as uncovering new music. We are gratefully teaming up with our friends at Kuura Corp, who will be serving up a complimentary selection of their teas for the occasion.
