Begun as a side-project to Melbourne indie pop group Aleks And The Ramps, Denim Owl comprises of singer/songwriter Janita Foley and a series of guests, most usually partner and producer Aleks. The music tends to be keyboard-based and meditative and with funny and poignant lyrics. Their first release was May 2009's EP The Dream Pocket which was the third release for local label Special Award.
