the word from the venue
“When I was a boy I was afraid of the dark… What was there”
Tiny Dynamite Productions and The Motley Bauhaus present the Melbourne premiere of St
Nicholas by Conor McPherson.
A confessional tale set in the 1990s that begins in the Dublin theatre and literary scene before it
descends into a London nightmare.
St Nicholas debuted in 1997 at the Bush Theatre in London. Critics raved at the production: "...As
vividly a realized theatrical experience as anything now available... Mr. McPherson expands the
scope of the stage to almost novelistic dimensions." - New York Times. Two years later, his play
The Weir won the Oliver award for best new play.
