Monsters of Riff 2026 ft. Elm Street

Following last year's epic debut of the hottest showcase of riff fueled greatness, a new batch of monsters emerge for Monsters of Riff 2026 at the Northcote Social Club on Saturday May 16th. This year's edition leans into the heavier side of things, with 4 bona-fide headliners in their own right, diverse in style, but united in worship of the almighty riff: Elm Street - The brothers of steel, leading the charge with their unmistakable brand of Heavy Metal Power. This will be Elm Street's first show back in Melbourne following an epic jaunt across Europe, and will kick off a massive run of shows, leading into the upcoming Hellbound Cruise headlined by metal giants Parkway Drive. The band are riding a major wave of momentum at the moment, this will not be one to miss. Witchgrinder - The Industrial Metal Demons have been both literally and figuratively setting the nation on fire, and are in fine form following the release of their latest album 'Nothing Stays Buried'. Witchgrinder will have just completed a nation-wide tour alongside German Dark Metal powerhouse Lord of the Lost, and are gearing up for a featured spot on the upcoming Dead of Winter festival. One of the country's best live acts. Aardvark - A reinvigoration of the classic NWOBHM sound, Aardvark have blazed a trail across stages locally and overseas, and have refined their live show into a deadly display of twin guitar driven power. Boasting songs that have more riffs than other bands can fit into an entire album, their debut album 'Tough Love' is a definite statement of intent and takes no prisoners. Ion Sky - A local supergroup of sorts, Ion Sky have perfect their blend of heavy riffage with soaring melodies, capped off perfectly with powerful live performances that have earned them a dedicated following already.
